Kimono Forest
Arashiyama, Kyoto
About 600 pillars wrapped in fabric dyed in the Kyo-yuzen kimono style stand in rows around Randen's Arashiyama terminus. The railway put them up in 2013 as part of a push to keep visitors in Arashiyama into the evening.
Insider tip
It's right beside the Randen platforms, so walk through on your way in or out.
