Toyouke-jaya is the lunch counter of Toyoukeya Yamamoto, a tofu maker in the Kitano area since 1897, right across Imadegawa-dori from Kitano Tenmangu. It opened in 1992 to serve yudofu made with its own nigari silken tofu, then came up with tofu on rice, the Toyouke-don. Fresh yuba and nama-fu bowls followed in 1999.
